Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 June 2026

Navi is operated by Green Junction Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16548743) and the company behind the Navi travel companion app for iOS and the web that helps you save places, organise trips, and get AI-powered travel assistance. Green Junction Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Navi iOS app and the web app at navi-travel.com.

Data we collect

Account information

When you create an account we store your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and profile picture those services share with us. Authentication and data storage are provided by Supabase.

Your travel content

Trips, saved places, notes, favourites, and visited status are stored in your account so they sync between your devices. This content is private to your account unless you explicitly make a trip public to share it.

Imported links

When you share a link (for example a TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram video) with Navi, we process that public content with Google’s Gemini AI to detect the places it mentions, and enrich the results with Google Places data. We store the link you shared and the places extracted from it in your account.

Assistant conversations

Messages you send to the Navi assistant are processed by Google’s Gemini AI to generate replies, together with relevant context from your saved trips and places. Your conversation history is stored in your account so you can revisit it, and you can delete it at any time by deleting your account.

Location

If you enable nearby alerts in the iOS app, your location is used on your device only to notify you when you are close to a saved place. Your location is never sent to our servers and we do not keep any history of where you have been.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Stripe (web). We never see or store your card details; we only store your subscription status so we can unlock paid features.

Notifications and diagnostics

If you enable push notifications we store a device token so we can deliver them. We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics so we can fix bugs; these reports do not include your travel content.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential cookies and browser local storage — never third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. On the web app, Supabase sets cookies and uses local storage solely to keep you signed in and to protect the security of your session. These are strictly necessary for the app to work, so they are not used for analytics or marketing and cannot be switched off while you are signed in.

How we use your data

  • To provide the service: syncing, maps, imports, and assistant features.
  • To enforce fair-use limits on AI features by plan.
  • To send notifications you have asked for (such as import completions).
  • To fix crashes and improve reliability.

We do not sell your personal data, use it for third-party advertising, or use your content to train AI models.

Legal basis for processing

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the following legal bases under the UK and EU GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract — to create and manage your account, sync your trips and places across your devices, process the links you import, and provide the assistant and other features you request.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and reliable, diagnose crashes and fix bugs (Sentry), and enforce fair-use limits on AI features. We weigh these interests against your rights and freedoms.
  • Consent — for push notifications and, on iOS, access to your location for nearby alerts. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device or app settings, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain certain records, such as those relating to purchases and tax.

International data transfers

Navi relies on service providers that may store or process personal data outside the UK and the EEA, including in the United States (for example Supabase, Google, Stripe, and Sentry). Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we ensure an adequate level of protection through appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or reliance on the EU–US and UK extension to the Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers needed to run Navi:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and hosting of your synced content
  • Google — Gemini AI (assistant and imports) and Google Places (place details)
  • Apple — sign-in, App Store purchases, and push notifications
  • Stripe — web subscription payments
  • Trigger.dev — processing of imported links
  • Sentry — crash reporting
  • Unsplash — trip cover photography

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app or on the web — this permanently deletes your trips, places, imports, conversations, and profile from our servers. You can also export your data as a file from Settings before deleting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK and EU GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. The in-app export and delete tools cover most of this; for anything else, contact us and we will respond promptly.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in the EEA it is your country’s supervisory authority.

Children

Navi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and note the new date above.
